Romsley Sanatorium
Romsley Hill Home for Consumptives was built 1911-13 by the Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund. The site, on the eastern slope of Romsley Hill, was considered a particularly healthy one. The building was designed to accommodate 64 men and 40 women and the first patients were admitted in April 1913. By 1926, when control of the Sanatorium passed to the Birmingham City Health Committee, 7,346 patients had been treated.
