Farley Farm, Romsley, c.1907
Farley Farm is situated on the southern boundary of Romsley and is hemmed in by Great Farley Wood on the west and Little Farley Wood on the east. When John Lyttelton bought the manor in 1558, Farley was farmed by Henry Melley of Ell Wood Gate. A later tenant, Thomas Lloyd, was taxed for two hearths in 1672.This photograph of Farley Farm features the tenant John Follows and his family, who moved here from Romsleyhill Farm about 1907. |
