Vincent's Toffee Factory, Hunnington
In 1918, Harry Vincent, a successful toffee manufacturer from Birmingham, bought part of Dovehousefields Farm, Hunnington. He was to follow Cadbury's example and built a new factory and workers' houses in the Worcestershire countryside. Harry Vincent's new factory was built between 1925 and 1927 at a cost of £10,000. Toffees bearing the firm's new 'Blue Bird' trade mark proved so popular that the complex became known as the Blue Bird Toffee Factory. |
