The altar, benches and panelling which characterise St. Kenelm's Church are all the result of the restoration completed in 1846 under the direction of the architect, Richard Hussey. He discovered wall paintings depicting the murder of St. Kenelm and made accurate drawings which survive amongst Hussey's papers at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
