Memories of Mrs Nicola Davies - Parent/Chairman of Governors - 1990s
We always felt very lucky to have such a lovely village school for our boys to attend. It is like building a house – it gave them an excellent foundation.
The character parades during Book Week, Easter Bonnet Parades and other similar activities were always great fun. Then the trips down the woods to see the bluebells.
I remember the time I was called in because my son, James, and his friend had flooded the sinks in the boys' toilets because they had made sink plugs and then couldn't turn the taps off. They were found paddling in water having removed their shoes and socks.
Or the time when Mrs Finnie couldn't find James and his friend. She hunted everywhere and eventually found them in the old kitchen playing with straws. We still have various pieces of artwork made during lessons on display in our house.
I remember the parents' association and helping to organise all then various fayres whilst praying for good weather. Also the pride and honour I felt being chosen as chairman of governors.
These memories will be cherished for always.
My nephew, Daniel, remembers the Pesky Number Fairy, the Ted and also writing Ted's diary. My niece, Kia, loved the Summer Fayre where she used to lead the pony around for the children to have a go at riding.
